9/1/2023 0 Comments Acceptance now hhgregg![]() ![]() With this information, is the Capital One Platinum card still my best bet or should I look at another card? I know this score is not very trustworth or reliable but it's still substantially higher than I expected it to wrote: It also shows 0% of my credit used, obviously. It does show $0 credit available so neither of the new cards are reporting that. I am going to investigate this and see what I can do about having it removed. ![]() It's my first name and the last name of a girl I dated 10 years ago, when my credit issues all occured. It does show an alias that raises some concerns. I have 11 closed accounts, all with $0 balances and my oldest line of credit is 11 years old. It shows 3 open accounts, 1 is my car loan and 2 are extremely old debts that total less than $250. It shows 2 new opened accounts but doesn't show me what they are so I'm not sure if that is the 2 new cards I got in the past 3 days or not. I'm not sure why that is there, I have not opened any accounts with them. The other one is over a year old and from my local credit union. It shows 2 recent inquires, 1 of which is the Amazon card I just opened an hour ago. Here is an update on my credit per CreditWise, which I just signed up with: The Amazon approval just further encourages me to do that. I had given up hope on my credit many years ago and the approval at HH Gregg had restored faith that perhaps I could still manage to recover from my past mistakes and build good credit. Please, if any of my thinking is wrong, correct me! This is all new, and sudden to me. I was considering the My Jewelers Club account but I don't think it's nessecary given that I was approved for 2 unsecured credit lines. Again, unless it's is strongly recommended that I apply for another account. Since I do not plan to apply for any new credit lines anyway, I don't see a need to pay for an extra month or 2 if it won't really have an impact on any decisions. Regarding the CCT account, I am going to hold off for a month or 2 until these new accounts are reporting before I sign up. Unless someone strongly encourages me to go after another, specific, card or something similar that will have a large, positive impact on my credit score. I am going to let things go for now, pay the new card balances off and let things build up/recover from the 2 HI's. This brings my total number of open accounts to 3 - my car loan which has about 2 years left, and these 2 new credit cards. Either of these approvals alone is enough to surprise me but both them just blows me away! I already had some things in my cart so I applied for the card during checkout and was approved for $800 on the spot. ![]() Prior to reading this I had discovered that the Amazon Store Card was backed by the same bank that backs the HH Gregg store card and I figured I would have better luck getting a second approval there then I would at a different financial institution. The HH Gregg approval has given me hope that I can repair my credit and help to be better prepared for emergencies. It's the only inquiry I have made since my car loan many years ago. I was approved for the HH Gregg card on Saturday, 2 days ago. Based on what little information I have provided, could I expect to be approved at something like Walmart, Target, or similar? I've read about Fingerhut, Emporium, and My Jewelers Club but none of them really interest me. However, based on the HH Gregg approval, is it possible that I could be approved for 1 or 2 more store cards right away? I would only use these cards to make one purchase every few months and then pay it off, just to keep the credit revolving, the accounts open, and the utilization low. I do not have any idea what my scores are. I understand this is low but it has sparked a renewed interested in me to repair my credit. I expected to by denied and then just pay cash. I hadn't even tried to apply for credit since my car loan and kind of just assumed I still had terrible credit. However, for some reason, I figured I'd take a shot at it. Other than that, I haven't had a credit card or loan in many years.ĭuring my Christmas shopping I was at HH Gregg picking up a TV for my parents and they offered me the typical credit card offer to which I always refuse. I have a car loan that is about 3 years old and never late. I had a personal loan about 5 years ago (with a co-signer) that was never late and eventually paid off early. I have had bad credit for years and have basically not touched it or tried to do anything with it in several years. ![]()
